The Mindset Shift That Changes Everything
When we start a new journey- whether it’s a health challenge, a commitment to healing, or simply deciding enough is enough- it’s tempting to think it’s all about action.
Eat this, move like that, check off the boxes.
But if we don’t address the mindset first, real change feels impossible.
For the moms, dads, and caregivers in the thick of foster care, adoption, and raising children with special needs, life already feels like an uphill climb most days. And when you add in the idea of changing your own habits and taking care of yourself?
It can feel overwhelming.
But hear me:
The biggest shift you need isn’t in your pantry.
It’s in your mind.
What You Tell Yourself Matters
Our brains are wired to look for evidence of what we believe.
If you keep thinking:
Then guess what?
Your mind will find proof of those things every single day.
But if you choose to start speaking truth over yourself instead, you create a whole new story.
One where you can succeed. One where change is possible.
Start telling yourself:
It’s not about positive thinking for the sake of it.
It’s about aligning your thoughts with truth—and letting that truth shape your actions.
Mindset Change is Biblical
Romans 12:2 says:
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Renewing your mind is a daily choice.
It’s not a one-time declaration. It’s waking up every morning and deciding:
“I will not let lies run my life today.”
When we approach our health, our homes, and our healing from that place, it’s no longer about striving. It’s about receiving God’s strength and moving forward, one obedient step at a time.
How to Start Today
Here’s what I want you to do:
Friend, God has so much more for you.
You are not stuck. You are not too late. You are not disqualified.
You are right on time for the change He’s inviting you into.
